Sand in the Streets

Sand in the Streets returns to Downtown Chillicothe in 2026 for Year 6—and it’s bigger and better than ever! We’re once again bringing the beach to the bricks by unloading 300 tons of sand right in the heart of downtown and welcoming volleyball teams, fans, and spectators for two full days of high-energy competition and summertime fun.

This year, we’re leveling up the experience by expanding to two days of play—with pool play on Saturday and tournament play on Sunday—allowing us to host more teams and even more action. Year six will feature 16 semi-professional teams, 16 competitive teams, and 48 recreational teams competing across four sand courts.

Best of all, Sand in the Streets is free for the community to attend, and all proceeds are reinvested back into Downtown Chillicothe to help keep our downtown vibrant, welcoming, and thriving.
